Free Up FireFox Memory
Not sure if this will help others or not, but I saw a cool post on Life Hacker about how to Reduce Ram use in FireFox
In a Nutshell:
I think LH has a link to a utility that you can use to do all that for you, but come on... its just a few keystrokes.
I was able to drop from 50 Meg of Memory in use with a few tabs running java applets down to 2 meg and the applets didn't seem to mind.
I have seen complaints that this stops FF from performing other tasks, so YMMV.

- Right Click in the page and select New -> Boolean.
- In the box that pops up enter config.trim_on_minimize. Press Enter.

Up Next?
Now that he's unemployed, or at least has less on his table, what would you like Joss Whedon to work on next? Sci Fi Wire has a poll up and lists the following choices: More Serenity, More Spike, and Wonder Woman. I'd really like an Other box on this poll so I could put in "A Star Trek that doesn't suck". Given the choice, what would you have Whedon work on? Link via Whedonesque.

Unnecessary Dock Icons
Do you have an icon in your Mac OS X dock that you'd like to get rid of? I had one in particular that was a background service, and the dock icon added absolutely no functionality. After some fierce googling, I found this nice little hack. Happy icon killing! (note: tested and verified working on Tiger)

Goodbye Eddie
iWon News: "'WWE Smackdown!' Star Guerrero Dies"
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - A World Wrestling Entertainment star was found dead in his hotel room Sunday in Minneapolis, where he was scheduled to appear that evening in a WWE show.
Eduardo Gory Guerrero, 38, didn't respond to a wake-up call Sunday morning, authorities said. His nephew, fellow WWE wrestler Chavo Guerrero, and hotel security at the Minneapolis Marriott City Center forced their way into the room and found him.
There were no apparent signs of foul play, police said. An autopsy was planned to determine how Guerrero died.
His nephew said Guerrero was open about past drug and alcohol abuse but had been sober for four years. Guerrero was married and had three children.
"This is a huge loss," said WWE chairman Vince McMahon. "Eddie was a wonderful, fun-loving human being. Eddie was a consummate performer."
Guerrero was a featured star on the UPN series "WWE Smackdown!" and son of Mexican wrestler Gory Guerrero. Last year, he became the second wrestler of Hispanic heritage to be WWE champion, though he lost the title four months later.
UPN also aired a special last year on his life, "Cheating Death, Stealing Life: The Eddie Guerrero Story." The program chronicled Guerrero's childhood and his struggle with drug addiction that almost cost him his job, family and life.
